KUALA LUMPUR, May 5 (Bernama) -- Malaysia were knocked out of the 2014 AFC Futsal Championship after losing 2-3 to Chinese Taipei in their final Group C match at the Ton Duc Thang University Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam today.
The defeat saw Maizal Hairi Marzuki's side fail to book their berth in the quarter-final after managing to collect three points out of three games.
Thailand and Lebanon cruised into the quarter-final despite both sides drawing 3-3 in another group match held at the Phu Tho Stadium, Ho Chi Minh City.
Chinese Taipei who are already eliminated from the competition, took the lead through Chang Hao-Wei in the 14th minute before skipper, Huang Cheng-Tsung strengthened their lead, three minutes later.
Mohd Asmie Amir Zahari reduced the deficit for the national side in the 20th minute, only to see the opponent team add their third goal through Weng Wei-Pin's strike in the 26th minute.....
