KUALA LUMPUR, May 5 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Netball Association (MNA) are hoping to emulate the success of the 1985 team when the Asian Netball Championship kicks off in Singapore from Sept 7 to 14.
MNA Deputy President Mazidah Musa was confident that the squad under coach Choo Kon Lee would be able to repeat the feat of the 1985 squad that won the title at the inaugural championship hosted by Malaysia.
"The squad has been undergoing training under coach Choo for the past few months at the Paralympic Sports Excellence Centre in Kampung Pandan," she told Bernama, today.
Mazidah said winning the title would give Malaysia a ticket to compete in the 2015 World Netball Championship in Sydney, Australia, because each continent is allocated only two slots.
"Our target is to win the title because only the top two teams can win a trip to the World Championship. We know competition will be tough but the players will give their best," said Mazidah.....
