Amirul Anuar Wins Third Place At 2014 TOV

KUALA LUMPUR, May 4 (Bernama) -- Young national racer, Amirul Anuar Jafri created a personal history after emerging third at the 40km Sonla Criterium at the 2014 Tour of Vietnam Championship (TOV 2014) today.

He recorded a time of one hour three minutes 08 seconds and the outcome was the best tonic for him to compete at the 2014 Asia Cycling Championship (ACC) in Astana, Kazakhstan at the end of the month.

"I know I can go far if I work hard to succeed and I thank my team mates who helped me to achieve third place at the criterium race today," he said in a statement which was issued by the Malaysian National Cycling Federation, Sunday.

In the meantime, national highway cycling chief coach Aminudin Sulaiman was proud of the commitment showed by the national squad at the championship this time especially in helping Amirul Anuar reap a podium finish.

"They copied the Mark Cavendish (professional racer from Britain) team's train action from three kilometres away. The team was guided well by team captain, Suhardi Hassan who was 10th.....
