TNB Contributes RM500,000 To AHF-MHC

PUTRAJAYA, May 4 (Bernama) -- The Raja Ashman Shah Hockey Academy Asian Hockey Federation (AHF)-Malaysian Hockey Confederation (MHC) Sunday received a contribution of RM500,000 from Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB).

The contribution was received by the Regent of Perak, Raja Dr Nazrin Shah from TNB chairman, Tan Sri Leo Moggie during the Temengor Cup Golf Tournament 2014, here.

The MHC Finance Committee chairman, Tan Sri Mohd Zahidi Zainuddin said the contribution would be utilised to train coaches, umpires, managers and technical officers from 34 countries which were members of the AHF club.

"Since the formation of the AHF in 2009, the academy had churned out more than 170 coaches, umpires, managers and technical officers who are now training players in several countries such as Bangladesh, India, Japan and Korea," he told reporters, here.

Meanwhile, Leo said in a statement circulated to the media that in line with the support for the development of hockey in the country, the contribution could strengthen further the TNB image and brand as a government-linked company that led the development of the hockey sport in the country.....
