KUALA LUMPUR, May 3 (Bernama) -- A total 20 nations will take part in the 2014 Para Asia Cycling Championship in the Klang Valley from June 10 to 15.
Malaysian National Cycling Federation (MNCF) honoray secretary Ibrahim Mustapha said the two events to be contested were the track event at the Cheras Velodrome here and the highway event around the The Palace of Justice, Precinct 3, Putrajaya.
"We only target one gold medal in the highway event because the competition this year is quite stiff with participation from South Korea and the Philippines," he told Bernama Saturday.
In the meantime, National Sports Council Paralympic branch director Mohd Safrusahar Yusuf urged national paralympic cycling athletes to get positive results at the championship as it was a qualifying field to the 2014 Para Asia Sport in South Korea in October.
For the record, Malaysia's best achievement at the championship were two gold medals which were won at the 2012 edition in New Delhi, India.....
