KUANTAN, May 2 (Bernama) -- Experienced national goalkeeper, S.Kumar will not dread facing a shoot-out with Canada if the match tomorrow has to be decided on a penalty shoot-out.
Malaysia qualified for the Hockey Champions Challenge 1 semi-finals after upsetting world ranked number six, New Zealand 3-2 on penalties when both teams were tied at 4-4 after regular time.
Kumar, 35, said a penalty shoot-out decider could favour the national team as Canada have not come under such pressure in this tournament.
"I am prepared to face any eventualities, even their penalty stroke specialist Scott Tupper," he said.
He said even though Canada was not a seeded team, Malaysia should be cautious and could not afford to be complacent with them as they could spring a suprise or two.....
