KUANTAN, May 2 (Bernama)-- "My hope and the hope of Malaysians is to see the Malaysian hockey squad win in the semi-final against Canada tomorrow," said Malaysian Hockey Confederation (MHC) president Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah.
Malaysia qualified for the semi-final after successfully edging New Zealand 3-2 on penalties after having tied 4-4 in the Champions Challenge 1 quarter-final yesterday.
Tengku Abdullah, who is also the Tengku Mahkota of Pahang, said the players need to be disciplined and focused on taking chances to book a ticket to the final.
"Our team must possess more power as we are only left with two matches before creating hockey history," he told reporters after chairing the MHC meeting here today.
Malaysians have been urged to pray for victory and give morale support to the hockey squad tomorrow.....
