Defending Champion Shayna Among Top Keglers To Compete In Malaysian International Open

KUALA LUMPUR, April 29 (Bernama) -- Defending champion Shayna Ng from Singapore was among top keglers who have confirmed their participation in the 37th edition of the Malaysian International Open Bowling championship to be held at the Sunway Mega Lanes, Sunway Pyramid from Friday to May 10.

Malaysian Tenpin Bowling Congress (MTBC) in a statement issued Tuesday said, beside Ng who clinched the women's title last year, others in the list are her team mate Jazreel Tan, Lisa Del Rosario (the Philippines) and Sharon Limansantoso of Indonesia.

Other bowlers who will compete are 28-year old Englishman, Dominic Barrett; Australia's Sam Cooley, Andrew Frawely; Jeong Tae-Hwa (South Korea), Biboy Rivera (the Philippines) and Indonesia's Ryan Lalisang in the men's category.

It added that 400 keglers were expected to compete in the nine categories -- men's and women's open, men's and women's graded, boys and girls open, boys and girls graded and senior masters for total prize worth RM355,200.

National bowling head coach Holloway Cheah tipped Zulmazran Zulkifli (2012 champion) and newcomer Timmy Tan from the backup squad to be the front runners for the men's title, while Sin Li Jane, Esther Cheah and Shalin Zulkifli will provide the challenge in the women's category.....
