PETALING JAYA, April 29 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Muhammad Zaqhwan Zaidi will fly the 'Jalur Gemilang' as the sole Malaysian wildcard rider in the 600cc Supersport Championship race in the inaugural FIM Superbike World Championship (WSBK) that will be held from June 6-8 at the Sepang Circuit.
The announcement were made by Sepang International Circuit (SIC) Chief Executive Officer Datuk Razlan Razali at the official launch of the Malaysian edition, at The Curve, here Tuesday.
"We are happy to announce that we have selected (Muhammad) Zaqhwan as the Malaysian wildcard rider to compete in the Supersport Championship in Sepang," said Razlan.
Muhammad Zaqhwan will be riding a Honda CBR600RR under Team Ten Kate Racing Products, a Dutch team led by Team Manager Ronald Ten Kate that has been successfully involved in the championship for over 20 years and has won nine world titles.
Muhammad Zaqhwan was selected based on his good track record in the Asian Road Racing Championship (ARRC) as well as his commitment and dedication in last year's Moto2 wildcard, said Razlan.....
