KUANTAN, April 28 (Bernama) -- National hockey squad manager, George Koshy has refuted allegations that Malaysia's failure to clinch victory at the Champions Challenge 1 Sunday was due to the internal conflicts within the national squad.
Malaysia were humbled by South Korea 1-3 in the second game of the second stage, while in the opening group match on Saturday, Malaysia lost 2-3 to France.
He said the team spirit among the players was not affected by minor problems.
"They are all professional players and are not easily deterred if minor problems arise in the team because everyone had been trained to act when facing any situation. That's why they have been chosen to represent the country," he told BERNAMA.
George refuted the claim that the performance of the players had been affected because some players were not happy with the drastic decision of coach Mohammad Dhaarma Raj Abdullah to drop skipper Shahrun Nabil Abdullah from the list of 18 players on Friday.....
