PUTRAJAYA, April 25 (Bernama) -- The Youth and Sports Ministry is not suspending the Malaysian National Cycling Federation (MNCF) over its financial governance problems.
Its Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said the cycling body would instead be given time to improve based on an internal audit report conducted by the ministry.
"MNCF is not suspended for the time being to enable them could carry out follow-up actions...so we are giving them a chance to take steps to overcome the weaknesses," he said.
Khairy was commenting on several local media reports that MNCF may face stiff action after a ministry audit found several weaknesses in the financial management of the organisation.
He was reported to be waiting for the proposal of a sports advisory panel headed by Tun Ahmad Sarji Abdul Hamid on the actions to be taken to address MNCF's problems.....
