KUALA LUMPUR, April 24 (Bernama) -- The Kelantan Football Association (KAFA) has appointed former Dutch international George Boateng as the Kelantan coach, replacing Englishman Steve Darby.
KAFA advisor Tan Sri Annuar Musa said the Dutchman who is currently in Holland, would be assisted by six assistant coaches who will assist in training goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders, strikers, fitness and rehab.
Annuar said President's Cup coach Sidek Shamsudin has been promoted as assistant coach to Boateng while his assistant Mohd Nafuzi Mahamad Zain will take over the President's Cup.
He added that Hussein Alaa Salman from Iraq and Prince Tagoe, a striker from Ghana would replace Mohammad Ghaddar from Lebanon and Obinna Nwaneri (Nigeria) who term of contract expired while two other imports, Mohamed Shawky Yazid (Egypt) and Francis Forkey Doe (Liberia) would be retained.
"The replacement of players was based on the recommendation of former head coach Steve Darby and also taking into consideration, KAFA's financial capacity.....
