SERI KEMBANGAN, April 24 (Bernama) -- The Sepaktakraw Association of Malaysia (PSM) must hold their Annual General Meeting (AGM) by August said Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.
Khairy said the PSM's request to postpone its AGM until the end of the year did not make sense, so the association has been given a four-month grace period.
"The PSM's appeal to delay the AGM until end of the year is ridiculous. If it is for a short period, I don't mind. Therefore, we have decided on an extension of four months after taking into account the Ramadan month," he told reporters after closing a coaching symposium under the National Football Development Programme, here Thursday.
Meanwhile, Sports Commissioner Ahmad Shapawi Ismail when contacted by Bernama said PSM's appeal to postpone its AGM which was supposed to be held by end of the month, was approved.
Shapawi said his office had received an appeal from PSM to delay their AGM, citing a number of factors, including the SUKMA, Ramadhan month, the Hari Raya Aidilfitri festival and the absence of its president Datuk Ahmad Ismail.....
