Kim Swee Disappointed With M-League Clubs For Not Giving Prominence To Local Strikers

PETALING JAYA, April 21 (Bernama) -- Local strikers must be more serious and strive to work harder in order to strengthen the status of the National team and be more competitive in the future.

National interim coach Datuk Ong Kim Swee said local strikers must learn from import strikers who play in their respective teams even if they (local strikers) are not fielded regularly.

He said due to what was going on, he has a limited choice of prolific local strikers whom he can call up for national duty.

"When I go and watch M-League matches, I notice that many clubs favour import strikers, so I am facing difficulties in identifying good strikers.

"Not that I am trying to blame the clubs for roping in foreign strikers but to me it would be better if local strikers like A. Thamil Arasu from Selangor are given equal chance in matches," he told reporters when met at Wisma FAM, here today.....
