KUALA LUMPUR, April 21 (Bernama)-- Armed Forces Football Association President Gen Tan Sri Zulkifeli Mohd Zin remains optimistic that Armed Forces can win the Malaysia Cup this season.
Zulkifeli, who is also the Armed Forces chief said though the squad under coach B. Sathianathan has not produced favourable results in the FA Cup and Super League competitions, he expressed confidence that the Malaysia Cup was within reach.
"Our focus now is the Malaysia Cup. Just like when we said in the early stages, the objective is to win a trophy," said Zulkifeli who is also vying for vice president's post in the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM).
He said the team management was aware that the performance of the Armed Forces team has not been consistent but believes the shortfalls were due to injuries and suspensions.
"We have eight more matches to complete the Super League fixtures and we cannot effort to lose or draw. We do not want to drop to the Premier League next season," he said.....
