PETALING JAYA, April 21 (Bernama) -- National interim coach Datuk Ong Kim Swee was disappointed with a number of M-League clubs for giving prominence to foreign players instead of local strikers.
He said due to what was going on, there was a lack of prolific strikers whom he can call up for national duty.
"When I go and watch M-League matches, I notice that many clubs favour import strikers instead of local ones, so I am facing difficulties in identifying good strikers.
"Not that I am trying to blame the clubs for roping in foreign strikers but to me it would be better if local strikers like A. Thamil Arasu from Selangor are given equal chance in matches," he told reporters when met at Wisma FAM, here today.
Kim Swee who replaced Datuk K. Rajagobal has called up 23 players to report for centralised training to prepare for a friendly match against the Philippines at the Cebu City Complex in the Philippines on April 27.....
