Perak Looking At Playing In Empty Stadiums Over Rioting By Fans

PETALING JAYA, April 19 (Bernama) -- Perak are looking at disciplinary action from the FA of Malaysia (FAM) including playing in empty stadiums if the team is found responsible for the rioting by its fans after a Super League match at the Perak Stadium in Ipoh on Tuesday.

FAM secretary-general Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin said FAM had received the match commissioner's report on the rioting and would forward it to its disciplinary committee to look into the matter.

"If there is a case, we will issue a show-cause notice. They will be given a week to reply before the disciplinary committee sets a date for an inquiry ," he told reporters after attending FAM's 11th Executive Council meeting for the 2010-2014 term at Wisma FAM, Kelana Jaya here Saturday.

The meeting was chaired by FAM president Sultan Ahmad Shah. Also present was FAM deputy president Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah.

The rioting following Perak's 0-1 defeat to Johor Darul Ta'zim left two media personnel injured. The Federal Reserve Unit was forced to fire water cannons to disperse the rioting fans.....
