KUALA LUMPUR, April 19 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Athletics Union (MAU) president Datuk Zainal Abidin has reminded several national athletes who have qualified for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow against being complacent.
On the other hand, he urged them to maintain their current form as only the best would represent the country.
He said the list of qualified athletes would only be finalised several weeks before the Commonwealth Games was to take place in July.
"Although they are qualified for the Commonwealth Games, we will still evaluate them, maybe three weeks before the meet begins," he told Bernama Saturday.
Four national athletes have confirmed their places at the Commonwealth Games after demonstrating excellent performances at the 2013 SEA Games in Myanmar, namely, Nauraj Singh Radhawa in high jump, Muhammad Irfan Shamsudin (discus), Adi Alifuddin Hussin (shot put) and Muhammad Hakimi Ismail (triple jump).....
