KUALA LUMPUR, April 17 (Bernama) -- Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin wants the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) to act against any team that failed to control the actions of their fans and supporters.
Khairy who was disappointed with the incident involving Perak fans and supporters after match between Perak and Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) at the Perak Stadium on Tuesday, wants the FAM and the police to tighten security during and after matches.
"If the FAM mete out punishment quickly, such teams will be more responsible to ensure the behaviour of their fans and supporters.
"I believe even if we have enough personnel and security officers to monitor fans and supporters during matches, the FAM and police must also play a pro-active role and not act after an incident," said Khairy when commenting about the incident whereby fans from Perak had hurled stones at the JDT bus and let off flares after the match which JDT had won (1-0).
The unruly behaviour of fans also saw two media personnel from the NSTP Group and Sinar Harian, injured during the incident.....
