KUALA LUMPUR, April 15 (Bernama) -- Defending champion Karolina Pliskova of the Czech Republic made it to the second round of the 2014 BMW Malaysian Open at the Royal Selangor Golf Club (RSGC) here Tuesday.
The third seeded player who is currently ranked 67th in the world defeated Aleksandra Krunic of Serbia in the first round, 6-2, 6-2.
"I think I had put in a good match today, it was good.. and my new serve was good for me. I served well and she (Krunic) was not playing her best tennis today. It was good for me.
"The weather did not give much advantage to me, I just stayed focus to win the match. I was watching my sister (Kristyna Pliskova) earlier so I knew how it is outside (weather). It was better today because it was not that hot like before," said the 22-year-old player who won the first Women's Tennis Association (WTA) singles title last year at the same tournament.
Pliskova has won 10 singles and six doubles titles in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Circuit.....
