ALOR SETAR, April 13 (Bernama) -- The national women's junior doubles pair Goh Yea Ching/Peck Yen Wei avenged their defeat to Kim Ga Eun/Kim Hyang Im of South Korea in the first round of the 2014 World Junior Badminton Championship here today.

The Malaysian pair stretched their South Korean opponents to a rubber set to win 21-15, 17-21, 21-8 at the Sultan Abdul Halim Stadium.

Speaking to reporters, Goh said although they met only once in a friendly and lost the match, they capitalised on the opportunity today to win in a tournament.

"We are more enthusiastic today because we had wanted to avenge our defeat in a friendly before," said Goh who partnered Peck since two years ago.

Goh said they would strengthen ball control and move faster in subsequent matches.....
