KUALA TERENGGANU, April 11 (Bernama) -- State tennis associations have been told to organise more championships to unearth tennis talents to be featured in the international arena.
Coordinator of 'The Mamee Tennis Malaysia Junior Tour 2014', Sayed Alfeizal Sayed Ahmad said the country appeared to have run out of capable players in the sports which could be attributed to the lack of tennis competitions.
"In answer to this weakness, The Mamee Tennis Malaysia Junior Tour 2014 was held for the first time this year," he told reporters at the third leg of the circuit at the Kuala Terengganu City Council (MBKT) tennis complex in Padang Hiliran, here beginning Thursday until Sunday.
Also present were the Junior Tennis Championship Tour director, Rohizan Rahim and Terengganu Tennis Association deputy president, Hashim Ibrahim.
The tennis circuit has nine tournaments with the first in Melaka from March 22 to 25 followed by Negeri Sembilan from March 27 to 30.....
