Malaysia To Meet S. Korea For Fifth Placing Tomorrow

Last update: 10/04/2014

ALOR SETAR, April 10 (Bernama) -- Malaysia may not have a smooth path for fifth placing in the BWF World Junior Mixed Team Championship 2014 (Suhadinata Cup) at the Sultan Abdul Halim Stadium here, tomorrow after drawing South Korea.

Malaysia would be facing South Korea who defeated Hong Kong 3-0 in their play off match, today.

South Korea were the defending champion but suffered a shocking 0-3 defeat to lowly Thailand in their Group W quarterfinal match yesterday.

Malaysian junior head coach Zhou Kejian said playing South Korea would be tough because the team had undergone systematic training programmes.

"It's a big challenge for Malaysian juniors. But for the individual events next week, we will consider listing fresh players to give them exposure. Like June Wei (Cheam), we will let him concentrate on the individual event which starts next week," he told reporters here.....
