ALOR SETAR, April 9 (Bernama) -- Host Malaysia failed in its bid to move into the semifinals of the BWF World Junior Mixed Team Championships 2014 (Suhadinata Cup) at the Sultan Abdul Halim Stadium here Wednesday, after losing 1-3 to China.

Malaysia who were tied at 1-1 after two matches, suffered an unfortunate incident when S. Kisona had to limp out in the first set of her women's singles match against He Bingjiao when the score was 12-16, after falling down and injuring her ankle.

"We collected the first point and it was a big boost to the players. If Kisona was not injured, maybe we could have collected another point because the opponent lost to Lee Ying Ying and we were confident with the performance shown by Kisona.

"We will get a confirmation from the hospital about Kisona's injury. We hope it is not the ligament, because if yes (ligament injury), it is serious," said coach Zhou Kejian when met after the match.

Despite the loss, Zhou praised Cheam June Wei who managed to level the tie at 1-1 after beating Lin Guipu 21-23, 21-14, 23-21.....
