ALOR SETAR, April 8 (Bernama) -- Indonesia faced tough resistance before overcoming Germany 5-0 in a Group X BWF World Junior Championships match played at the Sultan Abdul Halim Stadium here today.
Indonesia's mixed doubles pair Reinard Dhanriano/Rosyita Eka Putri Sari picked up their country's first point after beating Max Weisskirchen/Eva Gerjanssens 25-23, 21-14 before Jonatan Christie, the top ranked world junior player, edged David Peng 21-16, 21-16 in straight sets to make it 2-0.
Ruseli Hartawan gave Indonesia the winning point after beating world number 9, Luise Heim 21-17, 21-18, also in straight sets.
Imam Tohari, coach of the Indonesian team said he was satisfied with his charges who have won all their three group matches.
"Our target is to make the final. Our path to the final will depend on who we meet in the semifinal. If we meet South Korea, we may have a fair chance but if we meet China, it will be a tough situation," he told Bernama when met here.....
