PETALING JAYA, April 3 (Bernama) -- The Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee can immediately investigate the Larkin Stadium 'tunnel fiasco' without having to wait for the police, to resolve the case said Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.
"Based on the account of witnesses and since there is no recording (video) of the incident, the case might not be referred to the court.
"I also believe the FAM will not receive any specific details from the police investigation," he said when commenting on FAM's decision to delay the investigation of individual or individuals involved in the incident, until police investigate the case.
He said the police must find concrete evidence to refer the matter to court.
The FAM had let off Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) with a tap on the wrist when the governing body for football in the country, imposed only a RM30,000 fine for failing to provide adequate security at the Larkin Stadium during their FA Cup second-round match against T-Team on Feb 1, which allegedly led to an incident in the tunnel during half-time while JDT were leading 2-1.....
