Sarawak Targeting Four Gold From Tennis In Perlis Sukma

KUCHING, April 2 (Bernama) - The Sarawak Lawn Tennis Association (SLTA) are looking for another good outing at the 17th Malaysia Games (Sukma) in Perlis from May 24 to June 4.

Sarawak is banking on their three experienced and senior players who are currently training and studying in the United States and the SLTA were confident of securing at least four gold medals in this year's Games.

SLTA president Patrick Liew told Bernama today that they were also looking into the possibility of bagging five gold medals.

"We are looking to Mohd Assri Merzuki to deliver the men's singles gold, Ariez Elyaas Deen Hesham and Alvin Teng to win the men's doubles, Aslina Chua for the women's singles gold and the team event gold," said its president Datuk Patrick Liew.

Sarawak captured three gold, four silver and three bronze medals to emerge the overall champions at the 13th Sukma in Melaka four years ago.....
