KUALA LUMPUR , April 2 (Bernama)-- National discus athlete Muhammad Irfan Samsudin is aiming to collect gold medals at two international tournaments in June and July.
Irfan with his best national record of 53.16 meters is set to compete in The Asian Junior Championships in Taiwan and World Youth Championship in the United States (US).
The 18-year-old student, who is majoring in business at Universiti Malaya, is scheduled to undergo a two-month training in Europe beginning April.
"I have tried different sports like rugby, handball, hockey, and golf but discus is the only sport relevant to me, so I would rather focus on this sport," he told Bernama after the International Islamic University Malaysia 2013 Sports Awards Ceremony Wednesday.
He advised teenagers wishing to be in sports to have self-resilience and be brave in facing challenges ahead.....
