V Shem/Khim Wah Storm Into M'sian Grand Prix Gold Final

PASIR GUDANG, March 29 (Bernama) -- Malaysian men's doubles pair Goh V Shem/Lim Khim Wah stormed into the finals of the 2014 Yonex-Sunrise Malaysia Grand Prix Gold Badminton championship after defeating third seeded pair Markis Kido/Gideon Markus Fernaldi of Indonesia 18-21, 21-18, 21-17 here today.

The second seeds and current Malaysian Open champions will be facing Singapore's Danny Bawa Chrisnanta/Chayut Triyachart for the title.

Met after the semi-final match, Khim Wah admitted Markis and Gideon were very strong in the first set but he and V Shem managed to regain control in the second set to force the game into a rubber set.

"We will try our best in the final tomorrow and hope to win the championship this time," said Khim Wah.

Their victory helped ease disappointments after the withdrawal of Malaysian men's singles player Chong Wei Feng and the loss by the women's doubles pair of Lee Meng Yean/Lim Yin Loo.....
