PUTRAJAYA, March 28 (Bernama) -- Carbon Worldwide Sdn Bhd, the organiser of the 2014 BMW Malaysian Open is all set to host the prestigious women's tennis tournament slated to be held at the Royal Selangor Golf Club here from April 14-20.
Its Executive Chairman Keld Kristiansen said they remain optimistic that the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) sanctioned tournament would run smoothly despite weather uncertainty such as the hazy conditions and also the rainy season which has hit the Klang Valley.
"WTA has revamped the rules about the weather, especially heat condition rules in the tournament but I'm pretty confident that the players competing this year will get used to this situation (scorching heat).
"We can also change the tournament into an indoor event but I think the fans would love it if held outdoors as it will be a friendly event where the fans can be involve in our sideline activities during the tournament," he said.
Kristiansen told this to reporters after the launch of the 'Women @ Work' Forum, presented by General Electric, at the Ministry of Youth and Sports lobby, here, today.....
