KUALA TERENGGANU, March 27 (Bernama) -- The organising of the Formula One (F1) motorsport in Sepang starting tomorrow will not affect Malaysia's good image although it is expected to be a low key affair following the Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 tragedy.
Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said the world would understand that Malaysia are still mourning the heart-rending tragedy.
"Despite the cancellation of concerts and other side events, we are confident the race this Friday will still be the focus of attention for motorsport fans," he told Bernama after meeting members of the Kuala Nerus Umno Youth here, Thursday.
Khairy, prior to this, had urged all sports event organisers to respect the tragedy of the missing MH370 by holding events moderately.
He said major sporting events which had been planned prior to this, such as the three-day EurAsia Cup Golf Championship at the Glenmarie Golf and Country Club and the Laureus World Sports Award proceeded as normal.....
