KUALA LUMPUR, March 26 (Bernama) -- After winning three silver and a bronze medal in two earlier series of the FINA Diving World Series, national diving queen, Pandelela Rinong has set her sights on winning at least a gold medal in the remaining series.
The Sarawak-born diver won a silver and bronze medal from the individual 10m platform and synchronized event with Leong Mun Yee in the first series held in China and continued her fine form in the second series hosted by United Arab Emirates, to win two silver medals.
The third series is scheduled in London, United Kingdom from April 25-27 followed by Russia (May 2-4); Canada (May 30-June 1) before its the final series in Mexico from June 6-8.
"I can see the advantage of Chinese divers in the second series as they fielded participants who are smaller build and they performed very good dives. For me, there is still a chance to snatch a gold medal and I will focus on diving even better at the other competitions," said Pandelela.
She was speaking to reporters after attending the Athletes Incentive Scheme (SHAKAM) presentation by Youth and Sports Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin at the National Sports Council, here today.....
