MELAKA, March 24 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Futsal Association (MFA) are hoping to fill one of the two slots from Asia for the 2015 AMF Futsal World Cup in Belarus.
MFA President Faizul Ali Anui said the target was based on the current performance of the team which is regarded as better than most of the teams in Asia, except for Taiwan.
He said MFA which was set up on June 23, 2013 is the governing body for futsal in the country and registered with the AMF-Asociacion Mundial de Futsal and Confederation of Asian Futsal.
"Futsal under AMF had started in 1930 and technically different from the futsal played under the FIFA banner. This team is also not the one set up by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM)," he told reporters at the launch of the 2014 Under-23 Asia Cup Futsal championships, at the Hang Jebat Stadium, here today.
The 2014 Under-23 Asia Cup Futsal championships will be held at the Sports Community Complex at the Hang Jebat Stadium from April 5-13, and feature five countries, namely Taiwan, India, Singapore, Bangladesh and Malaysia.....
