DUNGUN, March 24 (Bernama) - The absence of a Thai coach has affected the preparation of Terengganu's petanque squad for the Malaysia Games (Sukma) in Perlis from May 24 to June 4.
This is because Dum Rong, the coach, appointed by the Terengganu Sports Council could not bring the training module here due to the political unrest sweeping Thailand.
Coach Norazam A.Majid said the Terengganu petanque squad had decided to hire a foreign coach with the hope of picking up some medals at Perlis 2014 Sukma.
"Due to the political unrest in Thailand, Dum Rong, gold medalist of the Petanque World Championship in the 1990s, cannot leave the country.
"However, our athletes will probably receive Dum Rong's coaching in early April, provided the situation in Thailand improves," he told Bernama today.....
