KUALA LUMPUR, March 16 (Bernama) -- Malaysian diving ace Pandelela Rinong continued her splashing performance after grabbing a second medal in the opening leg of the 2014 FINA Diving World Series in Beijing, China, today.
The 21-year-old Sarawakian who won a bronze medal in the synchronized diving event with Leong Mun Yee on Friday, accumulated 368.50 points in the individual category to claim silver at the Water Cube National Aquatic Centre in Beijing.
China's Liu Huixia who was the 2012 London Olympic gold medallist in synchronized platform, bagged the gold medal with 412.90 points while Great Britain's Tonia Couch settled for the bronze after scoring 357.90 points.
Only the top three from two preliminary rounds made the cut for the top six in the final.
The tournament will continue with the second leg in Dubai, UAE from March 22-24); London, Great Britain (April 25-27); Moscow, Russia (May 2-4); Windsor, Canada (May 30-June 1) before concluding in Monterrey, Mexico from June 6-8.....
