Lack Of Power Costs Mohd Saufi In Final Sprint

KUALA TERENGGANU, March 7 (Bernama) -- The lack of power for the final sprint caused Terengganu Cycling Team (TSG) rider Mohd Saufi Mat to miss the chance of a better finishing in his own turf in Stage Nine of the 2014 Le Tour De Langkawi (LTdL).

Despite the home crowd cheers, the 23-year-old cyclist was just to worn out to break away after helping two compatroits, Anuar Manan and Mohd Harrif Salleh out of a a melee.

"In the last three kilometres, some cyclists fell causing Harrif and Anuar to be trapped. After that, I tried to sprint but was too exhausted.

"It was my will to sprint but I used too much energy to pull Harrif and Anuar and I myself was very tired," he told reporters after the stage here today.

Mohd Saufi ended the 111.1 kilometre race in 13th place.....
