KUALA LUMPUR, March 5 (Bernama) -- National shuttler Misbun Ramdan Misbun clawed back into the game to book his berth in the first round of the All England 2014 at the National Indoor Arena, Birmingham, England early Wednesday.
After going down 18-21 to Ville Lang of Finland in the first set, Misbun Ramdan gave a spirited fightback to clinch the second set 21-11.
Much to the delight of a group of Malaysian supporters, Misbun Ramdan dominated the third set to win 16-3, said a badminton website, www.bwfbadminton.org//sport.
Earlier, the 23-year-old shuttler brushed aside a stiff challenge from Dane Joachim Persson of Denmark in the qualifying round, beating him 21-16, 18-21 and 21-8.
Misbun Ramdan, who was put through the paces by his badminton ace father, Datuk Misbun Sidek will meet Chou Tien Chen of Taiwan in the first round today.....
