SGA To Send More Young Golfers For Overseas Exposure

Last update: 04/03/2014
KUCHING, March 4 (Bernama) -- The Sarawak Golf Association (SGA) will send more of its junior golfers to participate in international competitions abroad to gain exposure.

SGA president Brian Chien Chai Ung said besides giving exposure to young golfers, such efforts would also lure more golfers to play tournaments in the state.

The SGA will be sending two juniors golfers to the 29th Bangladesh Amateur Open in Dhaka from March 5-9, namely Aaron Lau and Immanuel David, upon the invitation of the Bangladesh Golf Federation (BGF).

Chien said SGA will reciprocate BGF by inviting their players to participate in the Sarawak Chief Minister's Cup International Junior Golf Championship or other top amateur tournaments in the state.

He said this was an effort taken by SGA to bring in good amateurs from the Asian region to compete in events held in the state.....
