BANGI, Feb 22 (Bernama) -- Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) is confident of unearthing talented hockey players among primary school students in rural areas through its hockey clinics which began in 2009.
TNB chief corporate officer Datuk Roslan Ab Rahman said TNB had adopted 13 schools in the peninsula to focus on generating interest among schoolchildren in the sport.
"Apart from financial assistance and hockey equipment to all the 13 schools, we also help teachers in training and game techniques.
"TNB also sends its coaches and players to the schools to guide sports teachers and students in hockey," he told reporters after opening the 2014 TNB smart school hockey clinics and district programmes, here today.
At the ceremony, Roslan also presented hockey equipment worth RM10,000 and an education fund of RM30,000 to each school involved in the programme.....
