KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 19 (Bernama) -- Four Malaysian professional golfers earned their tickets to the prestigious Maybank Malaysian Open after clinching the top four spots in the Malaysian Open qualifier at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club, here, today.
The two-day qualifying round enabled them to participate in the upcoming Maybank Malaysian Open golf championship scheduled from April 17 to 20, which offers a total prize money of US$2.75 million (about RM9 million).
In today's final qualifying round, Kemarol Baharin Kemarol Huda soared with a three-under 69 from yesterday's two-over 74 score to take the lead with a two-day total of one-under 143.
"This is the second consecutive year I have qualified for the Maybank Malaysian Open and I have set my sights on making the halfway cut this year. Last year I didn't play as well as I would have liked and missed the cut, but the experience was simply amazing and I believe it has made me a better player," said Kemarol Baharin.
In his preparation for the Maybank Malaysian Open, Kemarol Baharin noted that he would be participating in several Professional Golf of Malaysia (PGM) Tour and the Asian Development Tour (ADT) competitions.....
