KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 19 (Bernama) -- World number one and two times All England champion Datuk Lee Chong Wei has not set a high target despite a favourable draw for the 2014 All England Badminton Championships at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham, England from March 4 to 9.
Chong Wei, the top seed in the tournament and the fact that his arch rival Lin Dan from China will be absent, said his main focus was to prepare for bigger tournaments like the Thomas Cup in New Delhi, India (May 18-25); Glasgow Commonwealth Games, Scotland (July 21-Aug 4); BWF World Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark (Aug 25-31) and the Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea (Sept 28-Oct 5).
"This year there are many big events like the World Championships, Thomas Cup, Asian Cup and Commonwealth Games.
"So, I cannot focus on all the tournaments. I am not too focused to win the All-England but I will give my best shot. Right now I am in performance and conditioning," he told reporters after a training session at the Juara Stadium in Bukit Kiara, here, Wednesday.
Chong Wei, winner of the men's singles in the All-England for two consecutive years (2010 and 2011), received a favourable draw when the draw was held by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) yesterday.....
