KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 17 (Bernama) -- The SEA Games Federation (SEAGF) has not made a final decision on the inclusion of karate in the 2015 SEA Games hosted by Singapore said Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.
"The final decision on the list of sports for the 2015 SEA Games programme has yet to be made. The final decision will only be made during the SEAGF meeting on April 29.
"The predicament faced by karate does not mean the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) had failed to carry out their duties.
"During the SEAGF meeting on Feb 15 in Singapore, OCM vice president Datuk Low Beng Choo had made an appeal to the organizing committee to include karate and a number of other sports that were omitted," he told reporters when commenting on a report that the Malaysian Karate Federation (Makaf) was unhappy with the OCM.
Khairy said Malaysia would continue to appeal for the inclusion of karate in the 2015 SEA Games programme.....
