KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 12 (Bernama) -- Local riders are capable of winning the Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) 2014 because they have the ability to collect points at various stages of the Tour.
LTdL Chief Operating Officer Emir Abdul Jalal said the route picked for this year may offer local riders a better opportunity to collect valuable points and win the title.
The presence of experienced and talented riders like Mohd Adiq Husaini Othman, Mohd Saufi Mat Senan and Anuar Manan in the Terengganu Cycling Team (TSG) can give the rest of the competitors a run for their money.
"Thus far, the national team has not announced the list of riders but I have met the TSG team and the riders are fully motivated for the race. There will be 12 riders from Malaysia competing in the LTdL this year.
"Therefore, with the right strategy and team work, they can achieve a win. This is Malaysia's best chance to prove that Malaysian riders are capable of winning world class cycling races," he told reporters after receiving a sponsorship pledge from Resorts World Berhad.....
