KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 11 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Hockey Confederation (MHC) President Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah wants Mohamad Syamim Mohd Yusof who pulled out of the Sultan Azlan Shah and World Cup squads, to reconsider his decision.

Tengku Abdullah said he was shocked to hear Mohamad Syamim's decision since he was a highly talented player in the squad.

"I hope he (Mohamad Syamim) will reconsider his decision to take a break. He can take a break but not give up on hockey. Maybe he is very tired and decided to make the decision to quit. I want to give him another chance," he told reporters after chairing a MHC executive committee meeting, here, today.

Mohamad Syamim, 21, shocked the local hockey fraternity by announcing that he was pulling out of the National squad, apparently disappointed with a report by an electronic media that claimed that he had failed to report for training with the national team.

Meanwhile, a local daily also reported today that apart from Mohamad Syamim, Harvinder Singh, Azreen Rizal and Engku Abdul Malek had also withdrawn from the national squad that is currently preparing for the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup, scheduled from May 13 to 23.....
