LANGKAWI, Feb 11 (Bernama) -- Defending champion Jeremy Koo representing team Sime Darby Foundation KRT lived up to his top billing by winning the first Malaysian Sailing League (LLM) series after sweeping past Royal Malaysian Navy skipper Masyuri Rahmat in the final which ended here, today.

Koo, winner of the overall LLM title in 2012 and 2013, scored a 2-0 victory in the final while National sailor Khairul Nizam Mohd Afendy representing Team UiTM/MYA finished third after edging past Nik Ashraf Qaedi from Permai Hotel Match Racing Team with a 2-0 score.

"Despite the scoreline, the competition was tight and I had to fight all the way for the win," Koo told Bernama here.

Prizes for the winners were awarded by Tengku Laksamana Johor Tunku Abdul Jalil Sultan Ibrahim who is the chairman of Innovatige Sdn Bhd, the LLM 2014 rights holder.

Langkawi has been chosen as one of the venues for a number of circuits that will be held to determine Malaysia's representative in the 2014 Monsoon Cup scheduled in November.....
