KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 7 (Bernama) -- The administration and management of national sport associations need not necessarily be changed, but on the other hand, their leaders must have a mindset directed at efforts to boost the performance of their athletes.
National Sport Institute's (ISN) Chief Executive Officer Datuk Dr Ramlan Aziz said they must have a mindset to produce high performing athletes, who were at the peak of their capabilities.
"Leaders must avoid politicking and be receptive to outside criticisms to develop their respective sports. The consequences of politicking in associations and the dismal performances of athletes are always in the eyes of the media and public," he told a media conference here, today.
Dr Ramlan said the leadership crisis in national sport associations must be handled by the leaders in the association themselves.
As such, ISN, with the cooperation of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) would provide an avenue for coaches, managers and top management of sport associations to open their minds by using the elements of science, sport medicine and technology via a one-day seminar on Tuesday.....
