PETALING JAYA, Feb 6 (Bernama) -- The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has decided to award the abandoned FA Cup match between Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) and T-Team to the former as T-Team had failed to resume the second half.
With FAM's decision to award a 3-0 victory to JDT, the Johor side which was embroiled in a conflict with T-Team during their FA Cup match which was abandoned at half time after T-Team refused to continue the second half at the Larkin Stadium, apparently for fear of their safety, advance to the quarterfinals.
FAM secretary-general Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin who made the announcement after the FAM Local Competitions Committee meeting at Wisma FAM, Kelana Jaya, here today said the match was awarded to JDT because T-Team had failed to resume the second half.
He said the decision to not resume the second half was made by T-Team and not the match officials who were in charge.
During the match played at the Larkin Stadium, T-Team refused to resume the match after half time, claiming the safety of the players was at stake, since a high ranking JDT official had allegedly assaulted a player and the fitness coach from T-Team while heading to the dressing room.....
