KOTA BAHARU, Feb 6 (Bernama) -- The Kelantan Football Association (Kafa) awarded grants totalling RM900,000 to district football associations in the state that are affiliated to Kafa.

Acting Kafa president Datuk Affandi Hamzah said the annual grant was handed out to nine affiliates to carry out development programmes in football throughout the state.

Among the districts that received grants were Kota Baharu, Gua Musang, Pasir Puteh, Tanah Merah, Tumpat, Kuala Krai, Pasir Mas, Bachok and Machang.

"The grants can ease the financial burden of the respective district football associations to prepare teams for the Kafa league that is expected to start soon," he told reporters after handing out the grants, here, Thursday.

Affandi said this year Kafa would also organise a football carnival for women and beach soccer.....
