KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 25 (Bernama) -- The question of whether karate will be contested at the 2015 SEA Games in Singapore will be answered when the South East Asian Games Federation(SEAGF) meets on Feb 15 in the city-state.

Malaysian Karate Federation (Makaf) president Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam said Makaf had held discussions with the World Karate Federation (WKF) other than persuading Singapore to list the sport at the 2015 edition of the SEA Games which in the republic, but failed to come to an agreement.

He said the Malaysian Olympic Council (OCM) and Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin had also cajoled Singapore into listing karate in 2015, but received the same response.

"I hope the Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC) will agree on this since the majority of coalition members under WKF are of the opinion karate should be contested in Singapore," he told a media conference, here, Saturday.

SNOC prior to this was reported as saying they only aspired to organise 30 types of sports but did not include karate at the 2015 edition following a SEAGF meeting at Naypyitaw, Myanmar on Dec 10.....
