Khairy Accepts Revington's Resignation

PUTRAJAYA, Jan 20 (Bernama) -- The National Sports Council (NSC) has accepted the resignation of Paul Revington as chief coach of the national hockey squad who will play in 2014 World Cup in Netherlands in May.

Youth and Sports Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin said NSC as the employer accepted the decision of the South Africa-born coach in line with the decision of the Malaysian Hockey Confederation (MHC).

"(But this time), we saw he no longer has the desire to be with us," he told reporters after witnessing the signing of a contract between go-kart racer, Adam Haikal Mazrul Haizad and ART Grand Prix at his office here today.

While thanking Revington for his contributions since guiding the national squad in October 2012, Khairy said the national squad needed to look forward and focus on the many important tournaments this year.

He said senior squad assistant coach, Muhammad Dharma Raj Abdullah will take over from Revington.....
